Did you know that there is actually a perfect number of strokes that yields a perfect no-clump effect? Yes, that’s true. Mascara is something that can change the entire makeup look depending on how big or dramatic you want them.
While we apply mascara daily, and think that we are an expert in the stuff and we know everything about it, there’s still a lot to learn you know.
If you are like me who wears mascara almost everyday, you are probably in need of some good mascara hacks. Don’t worry I got you. I have listed some of the mascara hacks in this blog post and I really hope some of them (if not all of them) are going to prove useful for you.
So let’s get started lovelies.
1) Plump your lashes by Using a powder
For voluminous lashes, apply one coat of mascara, use a q-tip to dust some powder (I use baby powder) over your lashes and then add another coat of mascara. The powder acts as a thickener and keeps mascara in place. You can also use a concealer instead of powder. And BANG, now you have voluminous lashes.

2) Use an eyelash curler
Heat your eye lash curler with blow dryer to them a little extra oomph when curling. After that apply the mascara.
3) Fixing dried mascara
Your favourite mascara got Dried? Awaah, Don’t worry hun, I have an idea to revive the dried mascara. You can easily fix your dried mascara with a few drops of a saline solution, the kind of solution you use for your contacts. So add a few drops of eye lens solution in your dried mascara and swirl around with the wand. Do this and your mascara will become brand new. Thank me later.
4) Coat both sides
If you want to add thickness to your lashes, it’s important that you coat both the sides of your lashes. If you skip the top, your natural color could poke through every time you close your eyes and you'll miss out on some serious thickness.
5) Twirl instead of pump
If you want to get all you can out of your mascara tube, make sure you spin the wand around to reach the edges rather than pump the wand in and out of the tube, which could trap bacteria inside.
6) Vertical mascara wand on your lower lashes
To get a more natural look on your bottom lashes, try applying the mascara by holding the wand vertically rather than horizontally.
7) Bend the wand
to get more control of your mascara wand, try bending the wand to 90 degrees as you pull it out of the tube. The angle makes it easier to grip the wand and apply the formula.

Ever wondered in what other ways you can use your precious mascara?
Well, there are many. For example;
1) Cover your grays by using a mascara
Imagine you’re heading out for a date night and suddenly you see some gray hair peeping. So traumatising right? Here’s a tip;
Mascara can serve as a temporary cover for gray hair on your head or around the hairline of the face. All you gotta do is pick a mascara color that mostly matches your hair, and wipe it the length of the gray hair to make the gray disappear until you shampoo. That’s a quick hack for dealing with gray hair.
2) Avoid Clumps
You know you have to change your mascara after every 3 months right? But don’t toss your old mascara wand away. Instead, clean your wands with a makeup remover and reuse them to separate your lashes after applying mascara.
3) Enhance brows
I usually like to use a dark-brown or a black-brown mascara for this. Clean as much as you can off of the wand so you can apply the product lightly without any clumps. Comb through your eyebrows lightly with the remaining mascara on the wand and tadaaa, filled-in brows. If there are any smudges outside your brow area, just clean the area with a Q-tip, so it's nice and neat.

There you go. That's all from my side. Hope something will work for you. If you have any suggestions or questions for me, feel free to contact me. I'll be happy to help.
